Sports injuries are very common. They occur in kids playing Pee Wee Football, little league baseball and yes people like myself the "Weekend Warrior" who forgot that we are no longer kids. There are many types of sports injuries.
Injuries can occurs from contact sports like football, basketball, soccer and baseball as well as from repetitive trauma in sports like swimming, running, tennis, golf and other sporting activities.
These injuries tend to cause injuries to soft tissue like joints, tendons, ligaments and muslce. Our office is able to treat many of these types of injuries with physical therapy modalities like ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation to the soft tissue as well as traction and manipulation to the joints. Many times during these activities the joint is damaged leading to a vertebrae being altered or pushed out of their normal position. This is called a subluxation.
Over the past 20 years of my career, I have treated Olympic & World Champion figure skaters as well as professional hockey players. We are able to apply these forms of therapy and treatment with great results.
